Terms of Use


Welcome to Palma Aquarium

The current document lists the basic terms of use applicable to Palma Aquarium for the 2022 season. These terms of use are also available at the park's ticket office.


Facilities

Palma Aquarium has a wide variety of facilities at its disposal; tanks, gardens, restaurants, photography, gift shop and a variety of entertainment available throughout the year.

The park reserves the right to organise, schedule, limit and close public access to its different areas.

Some of the facilities may become out of order, cancelled or closed, due to technical, meteorological, security or operational reasons, and the park itself may need to be closed for the reasons listed above. None of the above entitles visitors to a refund of their entrance fee or a change of date for the same.


Access to the park


Entrance tickets and annual passes allow visitors entry into Palma Aquarium. These tickets and passes allow visitors to enjoy Palma Aquarium on the days and times the park is open to the public, either in its entirety or in part, they also provide access to the activities, entertainment, restaurants and the rest of the facilities, as long as visitors always respect the access, functional, operational and security restrictions in place.

The Palma Aquarium ticket office can inform visitors of the current prices for each ticket type for the current season. Their are also services which are not included in the ticket price or in the annual pass. For further information on conditions of purchase and use of these services, please contact a member of staff.

For reasons of safety, Palma Aquarium reserves the right to limit or interrupt access to the park in order not to exceed the maximum legal capacity and ensure the safety of visitors and emergency actions that may be necessary.

Palma Aquarium may deny access to the park to all users who present an evident state of intoxication, or may present a threat to other visitors or themselves.


1) Palma Aquarium will not be held responsible if a visitor loses their ticket or annual pass.

2) Entrance tickets and annual passes must be purchased at the Palma Aquarium ticket office, at authorised points of sale which can be identified via the corresponding distinctive seal, or online at www.palmaaquarium.com

3) Visitors must retain their entrance tickets and annual passes for the duration of their visit to Palma Aquarium, and show them to staff if required to do so.

4) Entrance tickets, promotional coupons and annual passes are non refundable and cannot be refunded in any case.

5) The park will not, under any circumstance, accept tickets, promotional coupons or annual passes which are out of date, broken, deteriorated, have been photocopied or tampered with.

6) Entrance tickets, promotional coupons and annual passes cannot be resold.

7) Annual passes are personal and non-transferable, and as such Palma Aquarium reserves the right to check the identity of the holder each time they are used, by requesting an official photo ID document.


If, on any particular day, there are large numbers of people visiting Palma Aquarium which could complicate the normal running of the facility and/or security, Palma Aquarium reserves the right to stop selling entrance tickets for the day concerned, in order to guarantee maximum levels of enjoyment for visitors and to avoid overcrowding.


Palma Aquarium reserves the right of entry and expulsion from its facility, and also the right to withdraw entrance tickets for one of more days and annual passes, with no possibility of reimbursement, for any one of the following motives:

Failure to abide by the terms set out in this document.

Disorderly behaviour.

Fraudulent use of entrance tickets, promotional coupons or annual passes.

Behaviour which causes discomfort or which is harmful to other visitors.

Causing any flaw, deterioration or damage to the Palma Aquarium facilities.

For security reasons, Palma Aquarium reserves the right to inspect visitors' belongings on entering Palma Aquarium, and to use metal detectors. Weapons, inflammable material, explosives or dangerous objects are strictly prohibited inside the park. Similarly, any objects, which although not dangerous may cause discomfort or annoy other visitors are not allowed inside Palma Aquarium.


Children under the age of 18 must always be accompanied by at least one adult.

For health and hygiene reasons, no animals are allowed inside the park, with the exception of guide dogs.

Some of Palma Aquarium's facilities are video monitored.

Food and drink not purchased at Palma Aquarium is permitted within the designated areas.

Visitors are obliged to be appropriately dressed inside Palma Aquarium.

Similarly, visitors are not permitted to walk around or be in public spaces without wearing a top, with the exception of water activity areas.

It is very important that you check the park's opening and closing times for the day of your visit, as well as the different areas available. For information on the park's opening times as well as on activities and facilities available for your date of visit, please ask at the ticket office.  However, Palma Aquarium reserves the right to change the scheduled timetable for technical, meteorological, operational or security reasons.


Visitors wanting to leave the park with the intention of coming back in on the same day, must request this at the exit.


The park reserves the right to organise, schedule, limit and close public access to its different areas.

Resident Price: Palma Aquarium offers special prices for residents in the Balearic Islands. Anyone wanting to make use of this special fee must prove their residency status at the park's ticket office, by presenting an official document featuring a photograph of the holder through which the ticket office can identify them and check their address.



Wheelchair services and storage of personal belongings

Palma Aquarium offers a wheelchair rental service. This service is subject to availability, incurs an extra fee and is only available at certain times.

Palma Aquarium offers a cloakroom service inside the park where visitors can deposit personal belongings if they so wish. Palma Aquarium reserves the right to check the content of these belongings.

Palma Aquarium will not be held responsible for the contents left at the cloakroom facility. If a visitor forgets an item, and it is not claimed within a few days, it will be considered a lost item. If the item is food, the park will keep it for a maximum of 1 day and then destroy it. This service is subject to availability, incurs an extra fee and is only available at certain times.

Visitors must look after any rented items during their visit to Palma Aquarium; once rented out, objects become the responsibility of the visitor, and he/she will be held responsible for any loss or damage caused.

Visitors must look after their personal belongings during their visit to Palma Aquarium; the park will not be held responsible for their loss or for damages of any kind.


Smokers

Smoking is prohibited, as specified by Law 42/2010 dated the 30th of December, which modified Law 28/2005 dated the 26th of December, on health and safety measures against nicotine poisoning and regulations concerning the sale, provision, consumption and advertising of tobacco products.

Inside the galleries, restaurants, shop, or any other building.

In the children's play area.

In the gardens and jungle.

There is an area within the Mediterranean gardens, called picnic areawhere smoking is permitted. Smoking any where else is strictly prohibited.


During the visit

Visitors must abide by the following rules during their visit to Palma Aquarium.

Minors must be supervised at all times by the people (over 18 years of age) responsible for their custody.

The use of drugs, narcotics or psychotropic substances is strictly prohibited.

The use of skates, bicycles or similar vehicles is not permitted inside the facility.

The sale and/or distribution of pamphlets, leaflets or products, is not permitted, unless expressly authorised by Palma Aquarium.

Swimming in the tanks or decorative fountains is not permitted, except for the tanks or fountains specifically designed for this purpose.

As a sign of politeness and respect to others, visitors must wait their turn when standing in line.

In the case of an accident, please contact a member of staff, they have a specific protocol to follow in these cases.

The park does not have a loud speaker service available for personal messages.

For hygiene and security reasons and as a sign of respect to others, visitors are not permitted to access or remain within the park wearing swimming costumes or bikinis, barefoot, or top-less.

When paying via credit or debit card, visitors are obliged to show an official document which attests to the identity of the holder. If it is impossible to verify the identity of the card holder, Palma Aquarium may decline the card as a method of payment.

Our staff may request your ID or passport for transactions/operations which require identification, in order to verify correct usage.


Photography


Palma Aquarium offers its visitors a photography service. Posing for a photograph is voluntary, and posing for a photographic souvenir from your visit does not imply an obligation to purchase said photo.

Visitors are able to purchase as many copies of their photograph as they wish at the photography sales point; any un-purchased photographs are destroyed within 24 hours.


Restaurants

As per current regulations, the sale of alcoholic drinks to minors is strictly prohibited.

At peak times and/or when so advised by management, access to restaurant areas will be restricted to visitors using the restaurant services, and in this case there will be an obligatory minimum purchase (5€).


Shops

In order to return any products purchased at the Palma Aquarium shops, customers must present their receipt. Customers may return or exchange products within the maximum period of a week from the date of purchase.


 Filming, images and photography.

We encourage visitors to photograph and/or film our park as long as they do so for their own personal use. If visitors would like to photograph and/or film our park for commercial reasons, we ask them to please contact a member of staff.

The use of flash is not permitted in tank areas, the flashing light causes the animals to become stressed; we appreciate your understanding in this matter.

Visitors are not allowed to take photographs or videos in the areas of the park where commercial photography is taken for its prior sale (park entrance and jungle).


Car parking

There is a car park and bus park in the vicinity of Palma Aquarium, these are public parking areas, they are municipal and free to use. They belong to Palma de Mallorca town hall. At the weekend visitors may also park their cars in the bus park as long as they do so within the designated areas.

At certain times during the year, the town hall may limit parking spaces in order to accommodate various types of events.

For security reasons we recommend locking your car and not leaving any belongings within view inside the car. The parking area around Palma Aquarium is municipal, public and free; as such the park cannot be held responsible for any theft, robbery, loss or damages caused to the vehicles parked within it, or their content.

The car park area is not a guarded area.

There is also an underground paying car park 100 metres away from Palma Aquarium. Further details on prices, fees and terms of use are available at said car park.


Special Events


Palma Aquarium may hold special events either inside or outside its facility, either after or during its opening hours and the park will allow the event participants access to any of the facilities and services it considers appropriate in each case.

Palma Aquarium will decide whether these events are or are not to be included in the price of entrance tickets and annual passes granting access to the park.

These events may be aimed at the general public or be restricted to groups previously determined by Palma Aquarium.


 Ocean Pass - Annual Pass


The annual passes grant access to Palma Aquarium on the days and during the times the park is open to the public, either in its entirety or in part, and holders can enjoy the facilities, activities, entertainment etc... Pass holders must always respect any restrictions in place with regards to access, functionality, operations and security.


On purchasing an annual pass the holder accepts Palma Aquarium's terms of use and as such agrees to abide by them completely during their visits to the Palma Aquarium facility.


Annual passes cannot be resold or reimbursed.

Palma Aquarium will not be held responsible if a visitor loses their annual pass.

The annual passes are personal and non-transferable which means they cannot be used by anyone other than the pass holder. Palma Aquarium therefore reserves the right to verify the holder's identity every time they want to use their pass.

Visitors must retain their annual passes for the duration of their visit to Palma Aquarium, and show them to staff if required to do so.

Children under the age of 12 must always be accompanied by at least one adult.

Palma Aquarium reserves the right to refuse entry, or to expel someone from the park, and also to temporarily or permanently withdraw annual passes for any of the following reasons:


Failure to abide by Palma Aquarium's terms of use.

Disorderly behaviour.

Fraudulent use of passes.

Behaviour which causes discomfort or which is harmful to other visitors.

Causing any flaw, deterioration or damage to the Palma Aquarium facilities.

The pass grants its holder the following rights:


Free access and access free of charge to Palma Aquarium as many times as they wish for as long as the pass remains valid.

Access to advantages, discounts and promotions designed for each type of pass and within the conditions established in each case. The holder of the pass has sole responsibility for finding out about promotions launched by Palma Aquarium and these offers will not in any case be extendible or subject to later claims if the holder did not benefit from the offer within its period of validity. Said period or validity must be explicitly communicated by Palma Aquarium.

If a pass is lost, stolen or broken the holder must inform Palma Aquarium immediately by phoning 902702902 or + 34 971 746 104. First replacements cost  0 € (zero Euros), regardless of motive, but the holder will have to pay for each subsequent replacement.

Once issued, the pass' validity cannot be changed under any circumstances.

In the event of a force majeure and as long as this can be proved in an irrefutable manner by the applicant, and always at Palma Aquarium's discretion, the holder of a valid annual pass will be able to apply for one unique holder name change and the new holder will be able to use the pass for the remaining time it is still valid. If there is a difference in age and this implies a cheaper price for the pass, the applicants will not, in any case have the right to claim the difference. Similarly, if the new holder's age is subject to a higher tariff for the pass, Palma Aquarium will not have any right to claim the difference.

 

Security


Palma Aquarium holds an auto protection manual file number 2445, as per Royal Decree 393/2007, dated the 23rd of March, which approves the basic rules on auto protection for centres, establishments and branches dedicated to activities which may give rise to emergency situations.

The company carries out training and annual drills for its workers in order to implement the evacuation plan. The staff specifically responsible for evacuation has completed fire security training.


The plan is updated and revised at least every five years.


It also follows the fire safety facilities regulation, RD 1942/1993. The building is equipped with all electricity installations, fire extinguishers and a central fire safety switchboard as per the regulations in force.


The company uses a security camera system, CCTV, all recordings are registered with the code number 208294121 at the data protection agency as per the Organic Law 15/1999 on Data Protection.
